Guest Room
“Toile de Jouy” is a fabric that was manufactured in France in the 1700’s. Scenes featuring the French countryside, showing people at work and at leisure along with hunting scenes, were the most predominant. I love French style anything, from food to fashion to the country itself. Being a fan of toile myself, I had our guest room wallpapered in a taupe/black and beige print, and also had the draperies and the bed skirt made to match. I agree that toile is not for everyone, but I truly love it!
Favorite Outdoor Space
When the bugs start bugging us or we need a break from the sun, our gazebo is where you’ll find us. Rain or shine, morning or evening, with coffee or wine we enjoy this space a great deal from late spring to early fall.
Favorite Room
One of my favorite rooms in my home is the Living Room. It is a peaceful room that I retreat to often. It's mostly shades of white and the walls are painted in a taupe color. I love this room at any time of the day, but especially in the morning on a sunny day.
Flower Power
This year I had the most beautiful Peony blooms, I was able to enjoy them in my home for about two weeks. This was the last arrangement I made with them. I now look forward to a summer full of Hydrangeas.
Favorite Things
I Love Jadite and this is part of my collection; I've been collecting it for about 11 years. I use it quite often for dinner parties and holidays. Jadite was manufactured from the 1930's to the early 70's by several companies, Mckee, Jeannette Glass and Anchor Hocking. Anchor Hocking was the largest and most well known producer of Jadite. In 1942 Anchor Hocking introduced a line of ovenproof glass called Fire -King. It was produced in several colors but jade (Jadite), became the most popular of all.
